We have introduced Essay Contest. Now you can run an Essay Contest and get maximum engagement from your audience.
You can select the option from Create New.
The process would be the same as of creation of a Photo / Video contest with additional fields under Entry Settings in Timeline & Voting tab.
- Title Label - It is the text that is displayed on the contest Entry form, default is "Title".
- Essay Text Label - It is the text that is displayed on the contest Entry form, default is "Essay Text".
- Essay Character Limit - It is number of characters that the user can enter in the essay, default is 500 and maximum is 10000.
- Optional Media - This field allows you to select from NONE, Photo or Video.
- NONE - Plain Essay contest.
- Photo - Essay contest with ability to upload a Photo, though it is optional.
- Video - Essay contest with ability to upload a Video, though it is optional.

Please note that once the Essay Contest is published you would no longer be able to change the Optional Media type.
